Available Companions
On occasion, we place adult dogs, typically between two and five years of age.
Every responsible breeder understands the importance of knowing their limits. In order to give each dog the love, time, attention, and care they deserve, we must be thoughtful about the number of dogs who remain in our home. If we kept every dog we loved, we would simply have too many. Part of responsible breeding is knowing when a dog who has contributed to our program is ready to retire into a loving family home where they can receive the one-on-one attention they deserve.
There are many benefits to welcoming an adult or retired dog into your family. These dogs are often already trained, well socialized, health tested and may even be AKC champions.
For families who may not have the time or desire to raise a puppy, an adult can be a wonderful option.
When we place an adult dog as a companion, it is never because they are unwanted. Quite the opposite. These dogs have been deeply loved, cared for, and valued as part of our family and our breeding program. Placement simply gives them the opportunity to enjoy the next chapter of their lives with a family devoted entirely to them.
Our retirement families quickly become part of our extended family. Saying goodbye is never easy, and there is always a lump in our throat when one of our dogs leaves for their forever home. But the updates, phone calls, and photos remind us why we make that difficult decision, seeing them cherished and living wonderful lives with families who adore them makes it all worthwhile.
